OTTAWA, ON – The First Nations Procurement Authority (FNPA) has appointed Dawn Madahbee Leach, a proud member of Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation on Manitoulin Island, as NACCA’s new representative on its Board. Dawn Madahbee Leach is a graduate of the University of Waterloo’s Economic Developers Program and holds a degree in Political Science with a minor in Law from Laurentian University. She currently serves as Chairperson of the National Indigenous Economic Development Board and has led Waubetek Business Development Corporation, an Indigenous Financial Institution that has invested over $170 million in more than 4,000 Indigenous startups and expansions throughout North-Eastern Ontario. Dawn also brings extensive Board Governance experience to this position.

In 2017, NACCA initiated the Frontline Workers Conference (FLWC) with a focus to address identified gaps in capacity and strengthen the network.   

NACCA is seeking qualified and experienced Event Management professionals and invite them to submit proposals for ‘FLWC 2026’. 

The selected contractor will manage all aspects of planning and delivering the FLWC 2026, a 3-day event including cultural activities and post-event activities. Responsibilities include: 

• Full event planning andlogisticscoordination including excursions 
• Program development in collaboration with NACCA’s IEP Team
• Speaker engagement and management
• On-siteDelegate registration management 
• Budget& sub-contractormanagement 
• On-site event delivery
• Post-event reporting and evaluation

The event will take place at the Membertou Trade & Convention Centre in the Mi’kmaq community located on Unama’ki – Cape Breton Island.

The National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association (NACCA), Indigenous Entrepreneurship Program (IEP), is seeking a contractor to write and edit an Indigenous Finance Institution’s (IFI) Officer Toolkit.

The IEP team has been developing an Officer Toolkit for Business Development Officers across the IFI network. This resource will include templates for letters, memos, assessments, and administrative checklists related to the Business Financing Program.

These ready-to-use templates will streamline administrative tasks for IFIs, while still allowing each organization to customize and brand them as their own. This initiative supports NACCA’s ongoing advocacy for the IFI network, strengthens capacity for Business Development Officers, and helps simplify day-to-day processes.

The National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association (NACCA) is seeking proposals from qualified event planners to plan and oversee the NACCA Indigenous Prosperity Forum on May 5, 6 and 7, 2026.  This will be the seventh edition of the event to be held at Hotel Lac Leamy in Gatineau, QC.  NACCA is dedicated to serving as the voice of Indigenous Financial Institutions and advocating for Indigenous business development on a national scale. Our mission is to ensure that Indigenous businesses have equitable access to the capital and resources they need to thrive. In line with this mission, the purpose of our 2026 Indigenous Prosperity Forum and Gala is to bring together stakeholders, showcase successful Indigenous enterprises, and foster an environment of growth and prosperity. By promoting these thriving businesses, NACCA aims to highlight the critical role of Indigenous Financial Institutions in supporting economic development and ensuring sustainable, prosperous futures for Indigenous communities across Canada.
